<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhflVaW5sIjrstzzg7DulQoMfBvyu88YHcjzjFAUgzzczMhv9iftbxJtcyHAjoSydCEhbT2j47558ZbhqNYYPMNfvMwaPkrGz2GL09Pf97wiYsvdYfq6oHHgrSpqoKDwZAL1itwKnVQtI8/s1600/IMG_1360.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhflVaW5sIjrstzzg7DulQoMfBvyu88YHcjzjFAUgzzczMhv9iftbxJtcyHAjoSydCEhbT2j47558ZbhqNYYPMNfvMwaPkrGz2GL09Pf97wiYsvdYfq6oHHgrSpqoKDwZAL1itwKnVQtI8/s320/IMG_1360.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the JP Ryan half-boned stays. I don't really love the pattern, or the results. I don't think it shapes enough for my taste, and the instructions are inaccurate. This really marks the beginning of my love-hate relationship with the JP Ryan pattern line. Also, I feel that the neckline is too narrow, and I'd prefer if the straps tied in front. I'm not really a fan of needing other people to lace me up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I don't think they give my form a conical enough shape, so I suspect I'll be doing most of the fitting for 18th century garments on my self. Next pair is going to be fully boned, and I'm going to probably use a Nora Waugh pattern from Corsets and Crinolines. </div>

They're made from 3 layers of linen; nice linen on top, linen canvas in the middle and a slightly less nice linen for the lining. I hand stitched all of the channels, boned with 1/4 inch flat reed, and bound with leather. I pretty much threw out the pattern instructions and put it all together the 18th century way. I should use linen tape to lace, but I'm using poly ribbon because it's strong and slippery which makes lacing myself easier. </div>

I don't know how it's all going to get done in time. I'm making more 18th century things than anything else, mainly by virtue of laziness and wanting to do minimal hairstyle changes. Saturday is my 18th century day, and it's looking like the Ice Cream Social might go 18th century as well. I'm going to break down my plans by day and events:<br />
<br />
Thursday: Pool Party<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHp0mZ4_ixj2N6Zvwp64uNGxRoZFAQEqzCfEmKZk6gC6Fh1dpAuhACwg2HkbYuByhVIlFxBm_1F2bcKoUQ9b0esVTotthWNESNmTA9W79JKDmw70pYmBgpIdM-f06UdvcYf4GPRUfYmJ4/s1600/1472739_619383921540556_3002709655323486931_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHp0mZ4_ixj2N6Zvwp64uNGxRoZFAQEqzCfEmKZk6gC6Fh1dpAuhACwg2HkbYuByhVIlFxBm_1F2bcKoUQ9b0esVTotthWNESNmTA9W79JKDmw70pYmBgpIdM-f06UdvcYf4GPRUfYmJ4/s320/1472739_619383921540556_3002709655323486931_n.jpg" width="287" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1870s bathing suit for the Victorian bathing suit group. I'm going to be making the ruffly one on the left, and a cap. Bathing slippers will maybe happen if I have the time. I'm planning to use the 1870s suit pattern from Ageless Patterns. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Friday: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Before Lunch: Downton Abbey maid costume</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7n1vQQLwGmu5Kn8_0p-Wz5C3vEJS1v4WjCu5eKrfOXGvMUSFVDaRgr5__PnZXQHAkZ175f7_fwyrUmPfWqYNSCOWQ0zRj8UhryoKMreBz5zJ-7biERHjuGFeEiBvepqvSEFn51clPOuk/s1600/B6229.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7n1vQQLwGmu5Kn8_0p-Wz5C3vEJS1v4WjCu5eKrfOXGvMUSFVDaRgr5__PnZXQHAkZ175f7_fwyrUmPfWqYNSCOWQ0zRj8UhryoKMreBz5zJ-7biERHjuGFeEiBvepqvSEFn51clPOuk/s320/B6229.gif" width="251" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another group! Pretty simple, pretty easy. Using a Butterick pattern, most likely with some modifications. I'm planning to change into street clothes for my limited class in the afternoon, which I am super excited about. I'm taking <a href="http://stay-ingalive.blogspot.com/">Abby's</a> class on 18th century hair care and hair styling, and I don't want to waste the work I do in that class by dismantling the hairstyle after the class to change into my 1850s ball gown. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ice Cream Social: Unknown 18th Century outfit</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
No idea yet what this outfit is going to be. It's probably going to be a floral cotton caraco ensemble, or the new Larkin and Smith pattern, depending on budget. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Saturday:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Day: 18th century Anglaise retrousse </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1OIen45JBnzsEqV5yzRdiSyiG7Nn4WjgEWsuDxg4wOlZB9WH7QBSapOL35rQ9mdUY_jhPFdiwDTc_AfggExD6-NTV0_-viIt6SrUVOGTLP0idyp6QCFblmY7NCDBvwYZVYTZx5QH1iEs/s1600/IMG_1354.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1OIen45JBnzsEqV5yzRdiSyiG7Nn4WjgEWsuDxg4wOlZB9WH7QBSapOL35rQ9mdUY_jhPFdiwDTc_AfggExD6-NTV0_-viIt6SrUVOGTLP0idyp6QCFblmY7NCDBvwYZVYTZx5QH1iEs/s320/IMG_1354.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I picked up this great silk brocade at Delectable Mountain in Vermont. Totally lucky find, this stuff is F-A-N-C-Y, and I got it for less than half of what it's worth. I'm making it into an anglaise (drawn up because I only have 4 yards) with a solid petticoat, probably trimmed to hell in organza. Petticoat will most likely be pale yellow. I'm also going to make a big ass frilly cap to go with it. Basically I want to look like he 18th century threw up on me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gala: Blue Anglaise </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the Gala, I'm going a bit more simple and elegant, rather than over the top frilly. I'm using a dress from Snowshill Manor in Patterns of Fashion as my inspiration, although given my frustration with scaling patterns, I'm probably just going to modify the JP Ryan anglaise. I bought an iron pleating punch on Etsy that <a href="http://frolickingfrocks.blogspot.com/">Natalie</a> is test driving right now. I'm gearing up for so much punching and gathering. I've got a great silk taffeta from Mood that's in between a steel and powder blue, and really shines under low light. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sunday: </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have fabric and a plan for a cotton 1830s dress with bishop sleeves, which is a time-allowing project. I'm pretty comfortable with the Truly Victorian 1830s dress pattern at this point, so it's a quick project that can be squeezed in. </div>

Like, torpedo level weird.<br />
I have several 18th century ensembles planned for Costume College this year, and trying to put my stays on my form made me realize that it was finally time to give her a new set of breasts.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Carnage!</td></tr>

I didn't have the suggested electric turkey slicer, so I just got a hacksaw from the shed and cut off the weird foam boobs. It's way easier to get these things out of their covers than it is to get them into them. After I put the cover back on, I filled the feet of a pair of pantyhose with rice, using my favorite and best fitting bra as a guide for size and shape. I then pinned the edges in place and stitched them down onto the cover. <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I made the peach ball gown for the PEERS 12th Night ball in January. The ball gown was pretty much made during the first two weeks of my winter , continuing my unintentional tradition of a 2 week ball gown around Christmas.<br />

I found a great peach Donna Karen silk from Mood online, and it was only $17 a yard so I had to have it. It's not exactly a taffeta, more like a taffeta-satin hybrid because of some floats in the weave. My inspiration: </div>

I used the Truly Victorian 1870s bodice pattern. I originally wanted to use the longer waist but this pattern is ridiculously long, even when trimmed, and I ended up not liking the look. I went for a straight, earlier waistline instead. </div>

One undergarment down one to go! I used the Truly Victorian TV101 pattern and it went together easily. I'm not a fan of how it tilts back but I tried just about everything to fix it and no luck so I'll live with is and compensate with the petticoat</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Era: Early 1870's</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Materials: Steel hoop wire, Cotton-bamboo blend muslin, poly-cotton blend bias tape</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cost: eh like $50 maybe? The wire was $32 and I bought the muslin by bolt</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Time: 5 hours I think. I cut it and started sewing but didn't really do a bunch on it until yesterday</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How Accurate is it: 50%. I doubt they had cotton-bamboo blends back then. Or poly-cotton bias tape. </div>

I go in for hair elastics and leave with hair elastics, 3 tubes of lipstick and some sponge rollers. There's something about the huge amount of choice in lipstick that makes me want to buy them. So here's some reviews of my newest buys.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I prepped my lips with chapstick and red lip liner and set to work.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Fire Red:</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZkkcgfPedN7lmSVNQ7jVDWI0Sbh7g9VhAuF_qRFKA9LH1ZdyXpqrwbrUp3J95GyKuG119YX3uhRTpMCDEViLJmJ-YpZhXEz6ATvkXmpyj4uOWgw7bB73rhqq9-y9H-H98_WvqeR7v2T4/s1600/image_1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZkkcgfPedN7lmSVNQ7jVDWI0Sbh7g9VhAuF_qRFKA9LH1ZdyXpqrwbrUp3J95GyKuG119YX3uhRTpMCDEViLJmJ-YpZhXEz6ATvkXmpyj4uOWgw7bB73rhqq9-y9H-H98_WvqeR7v2T4/s1600/image_1.jpeg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cost: about $9</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Verdict: A nice blue based red. I was a little disappointed because it looked brighter in the tube but overall a good red for evening wear. It's a bit too dark for me during the day. I went on nice and smooth, although it took two coats even over lip liner. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Purty Persimmon: </div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ51FnMl3mGsOqQ8-16ncUEPgbdBYX62qoDpMQ_LsuLtoitaP6z4U8f293aV2W-m8rat2zVn6olA2kwjCsux2Wbj-hC8gPiF7IqfvmgQQPqpVSnCQCStetYt8CBMYSuHUaOf_3oaGXQUg/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ51FnMl3mGsOqQ8-16ncUEPgbdBYX62qoDpMQ_LsuLtoitaP6z4U8f293aV2W-m8rat2zVn6olA2kwjCsux2Wbj-hC8gPiF7IqfvmgQQPqpVSnCQCStetYt8CBMYSuHUaOf_3oaGXQUg/s1600/image.jpeg" height="320" width="240" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I didn't have any orange liner so no liner here</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Cost: $3 so it was an experiment<br /><div>
The Verdict: Meh. I actually applied it once and wiped it off before applying again. The first application it went on really waxy and gross, and I had to press really hard. The second time around it was a little easier to apply although still not the best. I like the color but it really wasn't the tawny 30s orange I was looking for, but I guess you can't expect much from $3 drugstore lipstick. Probably reserving this one for modern outfits. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love That Red:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnUA6XH4_Q-XUcVgT7_Bbk9ptcvSfIstOUvloI2sTr-M1DrA6u9CRBPFWPaRmQHPGidzZ0J-4TaVvIrv4-L9lVBr0Ai2UITTIwj1EB2ebxId4yW36mML0wNl5z1y1s41wxdtftDhDhZjI/s1600/image_2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnUA6XH4_Q-XUcVgT7_Bbk9ptcvSfIstOUvloI2sTr-M1DrA6u9CRBPFWPaRmQHPGidzZ0J-4TaVvIrv4-L9lVBr0Ai2UITTIwj1EB2ebxId4yW36mML0wNl5z1y1s41wxdtftDhDhZjI/s1600/image_2.jpeg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cost: $9</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Verdict: My favorite of the bunch! It went on smooth and had a really nice vibrant color. Basically what I expected On Fire Red to be. I usually hear people raving about Fire and Ice from Revlon but I have to say I'm partial to this one. Great vintage red. </div>

</div>
I'll start this post off with my big news; I'm going to Costume College! I'm so excited to not wear modern clothing for an entire weekend! I'll be rooming with the lovely Breanna (of <a href="http://mothballfleet.blogspot.com/">Mothball Fleet</a>) and Chris (of <a href="http://thelacedangel.blogspot.com/">The Laced Angel</a>), and we're all CoCo newbies so it'll be a great adventure. I just signed up for my limited classes and the excitement is only building. And now I realize I have gaps in my wardrobe. Even though my philosophy for my first CoCo is "less is more", i.e. just enough really good costumes for events, I still felt like I was lacking something. Enter the early 1870s.<br />
<br />
I <i>love </i>this period. I love the 1870s as a whole, but I feel slightly more inclined towards the early years. Possibly because more than half of the fashion plates from this time look like cupcakes.<br />

Initially, I wanted to make the dress pictured above because I'm crazy. I've decided to save myself and do something more like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/originals/94/d2/09/94d209461705ec6153d55358d50e1a29.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/originals/94/d2/09/94d209461705ec6153d55358d50e1a29.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A nice, light cotton summer dress. I'm planning to wear it to the ice cream social at CoCo, so I knew the theme had to be somewhat confectionery. While ambling around the cotton section of Discount Fabrics replenishing my muslin stash, I fell in love with a blue and brown striped shirting. Having learned my lesson from the last time I took a swatch and pondered for a week (I went back and the fabric was completely gone) I bought it on the spot. All 11 1/4 yards. At least I got the roll price. Here's my initial sketch:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Note: I decided to make the entire thing in the stripe after finding that the blue was surprisingly impossible to match</td></tr>

This gown was my contribution for the Hopeless Romantics group for the April Gaskell Ball. Our theme was the entire romantic period. but most people stuck to the 1830's. I was on the later end of the group.<br />
<div>
The Facts:</div>
<div>
Era: 1830s</div>
<div>
Materials: silk taffeta, cotton twill, cotton cord, silk thread, steel bones</div>
<div>
Cost: too much, but I'm guessing around $300</div>
<div>
Time: I lost track but it was a lot</div>
<div>
How accurate is it: 60%. I used a sewing machine and serger on this, as well as machine eyelets and totally modern linings. </div>

Oh the hair. I did an Apollo's knot using all my natural hair but it seems there aren't any decent photos of it. Anyhow, I used all my natural hair and some wire and almost all my hairpins. I just winged it because it doesn't show in my inspiration pic. The curls stayed intact even after dancing thanks to LottaBody. The flowers are a random assortment of spring silk flowers from the craft store with some branches. Cameo is a family piece. The gloves I'm wearing are from Lacis. </div>

Materials: Reproduction quilting cotton, plastic buttons<br />
Cost: about $25?<br />
How accurate is it: 80% I used the serger a lot seeing as it's everyday clothing that need to get thrown in the wash and the fabric is a bit heavy<br />

</div>
I recently decided that I'm sick and tired of modern clothing. And I lack the funds to buy all the amazing vintage clothing I want. But what I do have is sewing skills, a pattern budget and a large stash!<br />
<br />
The Goal: Sew as many 1940's garments as I can before heading off to college.<br />
<br />
The Materials: Vintage patterns, repro patterns, stash fabric, repro cottons<br />
<br />
What I want to make (This list will have items checked off as they are made)<br />
3 Blouses<br />
Pants!<br />
Landgirl-esque overalls<br />
A playsuit<br />
3 Skirts<br />
2 Shirtdresses<br />
1 dress TBD<br />
1 Slip<br />
2 pairs of tap pants<br />
<br />
Patterns I plan to use (thus far):<br />

A Cotton Ballgown?!?! I was so sick and tired of fighting with the cartridge pleats in my Romantic Era that I went out and bought a bolt of muslin and created an 1860's ballgown based on a dress I saw on Pinterest. </div>

The Pants a.k.a. I didn't know what I was doing but suddenly there were pants, pants.<br />
<div>
Most of the pattern for the bodice was taken from the Laughing Moon pattern and the pants themselves are just large rectangle with the crotch shaping from some bloomers. The bodice is pretty heavily boned and closes in the back with hooks and eyes. The decoration on the bodice is actually where most of the work is. The costume on Downton was made using vintage trim, so I did my best to replicate it with a bunch of appliques cut from a larger lace-y panel. The belt is a strange metallic ribbon and there's beaded edging on the bodice.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I ultimately decided against lace</td></tr>

Progress on the Romantic Era: It has a bertha now and a bunch of other things. At this point I just need to sew on a lot of hooks and eyes and then starch and iron ALL the underthings.<br />

</div>
This is waaaaaay long over-due post, seeing as I was back East before Halloween but anyhow while I was visiting Smith they let me loose in the historic costume collection. I got to about 1910 (their closets go chronologically) before the professor who I was meeting with had to go to set up an exhibit. Unfortunately, all I had on me was my phone for pictures and it was so hard to choose favorites to photograph but here are some of the ones I loved.<br />

Progress is also being made on the ballgown! I've been rather sluggish on it, but I'm hoping to utilize the upcoming breaks to have it ready for the PEERS 12th Night ball. <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I already have all the undies for about 1840-1870 and since I mildly dislike dancing in hoops and would rather not make myself six more petticoats, the 1840s it was!<br />
I went to the library to look at some old copies of the Godey Lady' Book that they had and I found this wonderful dress:<br />
<a href="http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lk0pd4qMTv1qidnqfo1_500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lk0pd4qMTv1qidnqfo1_500.jpg" /></a><br />
I just so happen to have about 15 yards of super wide lace from a planned bustle dress that never came to be so I knew immediately that this dress was the one. As far as color goes, I'm thinking a nice spring green like this one from Renaissance Fabrics:<br />
<a href="http://www.renaissancefabrics.net/wp-content/uploads/photos682-286x286.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://www.renaissancefabrics.net/wp-content/uploads/photos682-286x286.jpg" /></a><br />
Here's how the swatch looks with my lace over it:<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMG1ncbE0jCdpx99bD-lsJV-580D59vgtmePVLP_s6Rf4NUId_Lb0wM2U-KpbVFfvHuhbeHMxHnzZsKvp4zKc8th02iwaq9f9dxuB1TlKwES5iVz3P78x6BGfG_-ewUP5OJrfZjX2nO5Y/s1600/photo+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMG1ncbE0jCdpx99bD-lsJV-580D59vgtmePVLP_s6Rf4NUId_Lb0wM2U-KpbVFfvHuhbeHMxHnzZsKvp4zKc8th02iwaq9f9dxuB1TlKwES5iVz3P78x6BGfG_-ewUP5OJrfZjX2nO5Y/s320/photo+(1).JPG" width="239" /></a><br />
I'm not the hugest fan of the ribbon decoration so I was hoping to replace them with roses, even though ribbon is more economical. I plan to debut the dress at the PEERS Twelfth Night Ball, and with all luck I can have the dress itself finished by Christmas.<br />
Patterns for 1840s evening ware are extraordinarily hard to find. At a recent Gaskell Ball I received a tip from a lovely lady in an early 1840s dress that the <a href="http://www.trulyvictorian.net/tvxcart/product.php?productid=99&cat=1&page=1">1830s pattern from Truly Victorian</a> works very nicely with modified sleeves.Kailahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17247630901906340777noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8189555205638515282.post-73505345997129412852013-09-03T21:40:00.000-07:002013-09-03T22:02:20.246-07:00An IntroductionHello!<br />
